Oak Brook was incorporated as a Village in 1958, due in large part to the efforts of Paul Butler, a prominent civic leader and landowner. Prior to incorporation, local residents used the name Oak Brook to distinguish their community from neighboring Hinsdale and Elmhurst.
As its history indicates, Oak Brook goes a long way in being distinct from any other suburb in the Chicagoland area.  Apart from its sprawling luxury homes, Oak Brook features golf courses, parks, and polo fields. In addition, it is the ideal place for a family to settle down due to its proximity to Chicago and unparalleled school system.
Residing in Oak Brook offers a lifestyle of opulence, ease, and comfort that cannot be found in many other suburbs of Chicago. Everything one can imagine is at the tip of your fingers, and this is the reason why Oak Brook is an ideal community for families. Oak Brook is an upper class suburb that is home to many of the wealthiest people of Illinois. The area is mostly comprised of large homes in gated communities. There are also a lot of big corporations headquartered there.
